Dr. Phil Zeltzman
After graduating in 1993 from the University of Liege, School of Veterinary Medicine in Belgium, Dr. Phil Zeltzman simultaneously worked as a general practitioner, emergency vet, and journalist for three years in his native city of Paris, France.
He completed a one-year internship at the University of Georgia, then a three-year surgical residency near Chicago, Illinois. Then he worked as a surgeon for four years at a surgical practice in Cincinnati, Ohio, and almost four years at a surgical practice in Whitehall, Pennsylvania.
Since then, Dr. Zeltzman has worked as a traveling surgeon, which means that he performs advanced surgery at the clinic of family veterinarians. He is a board-certified surgeon, in other words, a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, which is a much-coveted professional achievement.
He is also a certified surgeon for the Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) and has performed thousands of these procedures in dogs from less than 50 pounds to more than 250 pounds! He is owned by two crazy cats named Praline and Nougat and loves working with clients to help their pets get better. In his own words, "Whether we fix a broken bone, remove a tumor, or repair a torn ligament, improving pet quality of life is what drives me."
