Dr. Amy Bergquist Sanchez
General Practice and Emergency
Dr. Amy Bergquist Sanchez’s path to veterinary medicine was clear to those around her long before she realized it herself. Growing up surrounded by pets, from dogs and cats to rabbits and even a caterpillar, her love for animals took root early. In high school, she began volunteering at a small veterinary clinic and quickly fell in love with the work of diagnosing and treating sick animals, solidifying her passion for the field.
She especially enjoys welcoming puppies and kittens on their first visits and helping new pet owners learn how to care for their growing furry families. Dr. Bergquist Sanchez also has a wild side - she’s volunteered with sea turtles and traveled to Africa to assist with wildlife care, and she hopes to return to conservation work in the future.
Education is a top priority for her. She’s committed to helping pet owners understand the importance of preventive care, lab work, and weight management, while also clearing up any misinformation they may have encountered. Her goal is to make every visit a positive, comfortable experience for both pets and their people.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Bergquist Sanchez enjoys visiting her family in Puerto Rico and spending time with her fiancé, and their 14-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Annabelle.
