Providing Internal Medicine Options for the Pets of the Poconos

lounging cat

There are many diseases that affect dogs and cats. Veterinary internal medicine deals with the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of diseases, especially those affecting internal organs.

Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital’s vets understand that the condition of an ill pet can deteriorate quickly. Fast and accurate diagnosis and treatment give us the best means of bringing your pet back to excellent health. We have prepared our in-house laboratory with high-tech diagnostic equipment, including:

  • Blood chemistry analysis
  • Thyroid level analysis
  • Parvovirus testing
  • Feline leukemia testing
  • Lyme disease testing
  • Coagulation profiles
  • Blood gas analysis

We have also equipped our hospital with internal imaging technology including digital X-ray and ultrasound capabilities. We can use these to check the condition of the bladder, liver, kidneys, spleen, and heart as well as to check for the presence of cancerous growths. When more specialized diagnostic testing is required, Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital has established relationships with reference laboratories that can be called upon to conduct needed testing.

The collaborative atmosphere at Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital means that your pet will benefit from the combined efforts of all of our vets, as they are able to communicate with one another to consult on difficult cases. The combined experiences and advanced training of our veterinarians provides our clients with superior resources consistently allowing our hospital to more quickly and accurately diagnose and treat our patients.

Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital is committed to providing the most excellent internal medicine available in the Stroudsburg area. Please contact us if we can help with your pet’s health needs.
