  • Pharmacy Window

The pharmacy window opens out into the reception area. This helps to decrease waiting time when you're stopping by to pick up prescriptions or other items. If this window is not staffed, feel free to use the front reception desk.

  • Exam Room

To the right of the exam room picture is one of the hydraulic lift tables that are located in each of the six exam rooms. These double as a scale and make it much easier to get big dogs on the table.

  • Treatment Area

    /Images/ViewImage.aspx?maxHeight=300&maxWidth=500&Id=13791

The treatment room is one of the busiest areas in the hospital. Here Veterinary Technicians perform a dental phrophy (cleaning) on a pet.

  • Treatment Room

    /Images/ViewImage.aspx?maxHeight=300&maxWidth=500&Id=13194

This view is a portion of the treatment area. A veterinary technician is working at the microscope, probably checking a fecal flotation for the presence of worm eggs, or possibly looking at a swab from a dirty ear to determine the type of infection present. On the other side of the treatment bar, (not visible) animals are prepped for surgery, and anesthetized for dental cleanings and other procedure. Sick pets are worked on in this area, and it also contains a heated oxygen cage for critically ill pets.

  • Laboratory

    /Images/ViewImage.aspx?maxHeight=300&maxWidth=500&Id=13369

Behind the pharmacy window is the laboratory area where in-house blood analyzers allow us a fast turn-around time on blood work results.

    Laboratory
  • Radiology

    /Images/ViewImage.aspx?maxHeight=300&maxWidth=500&Id=13198

In-house radiology (x-ray), ultrasound and endoscopy units are also available for more advanced diagnostic testing.

    Radiology
  • Ultasound

    /Images/ViewImage.aspx?maxHeight=300&maxWidth=500&Id=13266

Our latest ultrasound machine is a color doppler with a cardiac probe purchased new in January 2002.

    Ultasound
  • Electrocardiography

    /Images/ViewImage.aspx?maxHeight=300&maxWidth=500&Id=13201

A computerized EKG\ECG machine aids in diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias. BHVH has the capability of "real-time" electrocardiography with off-premises veterinary cardiac specialists.

  • Cat Ward

    /Images/ViewImage.aspx?maxHeight=300&maxWidth=500&Id=13380

This area has less foot traffic and is free from dogs, allowing cats to relax a little more as they wait for surgery or other procedures.

  • Dog Runs

    /Images/ViewImage.aspx?maxHeight=300&maxWidth=500&Id=13280

The dog runs are elevated and have a vinyl-coated mesh floor. A third area, not shown, is the treatment ward, where ill animals, or those that need closer supervision, are kept.

  • Isolation

    /Images/ViewImage.aspx?maxHeight=300&maxWidth=500&Id=13221

The isolation room is housed away from the rest of the hospital and has a separate ventilation system to protect other patients from respiratory and other contagious diseases.

  • Surgery

    /Images/ViewImage.aspx?maxHeight=300&maxWidth=500&Id=13224

Surgery is aided by the use of a laser, to help diminish bleeding and post-operative pain. Certified veterinary technicians aid in monitoring and recovery of anesthetized pets, with the help of pulse oximetry.
